We are excited to announce our new BeWell@StepOne programme for 2022!
Step One has been supporting people in Devon with their mental health for over 80 years, working closely with local NHS Trusts, GP surgeries and communities.
Due to the record numbers of people across Devon who are seeking support for their mental health, we use our specialist knowledge of mental health service provision to meet some of that demand.
BeWell@StepOne provides support to people as possible across county through online courses, support groups and learning opportunities. We help people in need of mental health support to manage their own wellbeing and, through peer groups, support others in their communities.
Our online courses are free and are run by professional, qualified and supportive tutors with lived experience of mental health conditions.
Our previous courses; ‘H.O.P.E’, ‘Managing Anger’, and ‘Self-Harm: Alternative Coping Strategies’, will be accompanied by three new courses ‘Beating Depression: An Outside-In approach’, ‘Understanding Anxieties and Phobias’ and ‘Self-Awareness’ which will all run across 4-weeks.
We are also offering two new workshops as part of our winter programme too as our previous ‘Understanding OCD’ workshop will be joined with new ‘Creating an Anxiety Toolbox’ and ‘Changing Negative Self-Talk into Positive Actions’ workshops – all our workshops are run online for two hours. This year, we are also offering you an opportunity to meet others, sticking to the COVID-19 guidelines of course, where you can share your experiences and discuss the techniques learnt in our courses through our online and in-person peer support groups. If you are interested, please take a look at our BeWell@StepOne course page here
All groups are free to attend, however, registration is required. Please visit our BeWell@StepOne registration page and select the course/workshop/peer support group you would like to attend. Once the registration is received, and you are accepted on to a course, you will receive confirmation via email with joining instructions. You will also be notified if there are no spaces available on the course you have requested.
Nervous about joining?
We understand that people can be nervous about joining online groups and discussing mental health. Our tutors are experienced and supportive, and if you would like to chat about any of our courses before committing to joining, then please do contact us by emailing email@example.com
