We understand that people can be nervous about joining online groups and discussing mental health issues. So, we've put together a course spotlight to make things a little easier when you're deciding which of our courses will be best for you. Here is a more information about our Managing Anger Course which starts 26th of January from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
Distressing, inappropriate, and sometimes violent outbursts of frustration, anger, and resentment are on the rise in many aspects of public and private life, resulting in illness, stress, suffering, and, in some cases, self-harm and death.
Can you tell me a bit about this course, who it’s aimed at and what it aims to achieve?
Through this 4-week course, we will be examining different types of anger and explore how anger can mask other emotions.
We sometimes view anger as the problem, but underlying that anger could be fear, depression, shame, guilt or many other emotions.
We will be looking at ways to reduce the impact of both your emotions and the physiological stimulation that anger causes.
It can sometimes be difficult to avoid things that make us angry, but we will be discussing ways of controlling the instant reactions to our anger.
Why should I take this course?
The best way to help yourself and others is to understand the causes, triggers and behaviour patterns of anger, and to learn effective techniques for diffusing and coping with aggressive situations.
This course is aimed at those who feel that anger is affecting them personally and would like to deepen their understanding of anger and techniques on how to deal with it efficiently.
Key takeaway from this course: You might feel scared that asking for help will get you in trouble, but it is often the most important first step towards changing your behaviour.
