Mark Taylor - Trustee
Mark has been our Trustee since 2014. Since 2003, he has undertaken a number of consultancies and investigative assignments for the NHS and has been Vice Chair of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), a Governor of Plymouth University and Chair of Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
Mark previously led the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals for seven years through their merger and a major restructuring of academic medical services in West London. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive of the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Mark began his career with graduate management training in the NHS and then spending several years in the motor industry and as a university teacher. He joined the Aga Khan’s health services as administrator of its hospital in Nairobi. He then moved to Canada, spending most of the 70s, 80s and early 90s in management consulting and as Chief Executive of two hospitals in Toronto.

Helping to unlock Step One’s potential is an interesting challenge.
