The cost of Mental Health to both communities and businesses is growing, with our NHS already stretched beyond capacity, Step One have launched the ‘Be Well @ Step One’ project to help support individuals to understand and support their own and other’s mental health and wellbeing.
For Individuals and Communities
Are you or someone you know struggling with their mental health and wellbeing?
The NHS are stretched and waiting lists for services are months (in some cases years) long – In these instances, individuals need support and BeWell@StepOne offer that support through remote (online) peer support courses and groups.
With small groups of people and supportive tutors we aim to provide a safe and supportive arena to explore and discuss mental health and well being issues and provide solutions to help individuals thrive.
- Anxiety and Wellbeing
- Wellbeing for carers
- Managing OCD
- Managing self-harm
- Help Overcoming Problems Effectively (HOPE- NHS course)
- Let’s Talk (resilience and well-being)
- Healthy Living (modules on food & mood, sleep, exercise etc.)
This is a growing issue for many employers. The stark statistics on the impact on businesses, underpin the cost if this isn’t addressed:
- Mental ill health costs UK employers an estimated £24.9 billion a year
- 57% of all work-related ill health issues were due to depression or anxiety
- 15.4 million working days were lost due to work related stress
With the current pandemic and the easing of lockdown employers are seeing a spike in mental health issues in the workplace. Be Well @ Step One offers First Aid for Mental Health courses to support employees and employers to spot the signs of mental illness and signpost to the appropriate agency.
