Confidential emotional support
The Samaritans are a 24 hour confidential, listening service providing emotional support to anyone in crisis. Calls to this number do not appear on phone bills.

Safety Plans
Safety plans is a website that provides vital ‘safety plan’ guidance tools jointly funded by NHS England. With easy to print online templates, guidance, and video tutorials that are purposefully designed to help people through the process of writing their own safety plan to build hope, identify actions and strategies to resist suicidal thoughts and develop positive ways to cope with stress and emotional distress.

Support for young people under 25. Get Connected is the UK’s free, confidential helpline service for young people under 25 who need help but don’t know where to turn. Open 365 days a year, Monday-Friday 1pm-11pm everyday, for absolutely anything you’re going through.

YoungMinds was established in 1993 and is the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. The Parent’s helpline has been set up to give parents confidential and expert advice.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and the cause of 18 deaths every day. Join the campaign to take a stand against suicide.

Meeting the challenge of mental illness SANE’s helpline is a national, 7 days a week, out-of-hours (6-11pm) telephone helpline for anyone coping with mental illness, including concerned relatives or friends.

The Silver Line – 0800 470 8090
Friendship and advice to older people, The Silver Line is the only free confidential helpline providing information, friendship and advice to older people, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Big White Wall 
Offers online mental wellbeing support 24/7 where you can share your concerns with others who feel like you. It’s safe, anonymous and has Wall Guides (counsellors) available 24/7. This service is free to veterans.

Helpline for the military community (Serving or Veterans) and their families, as well as for medical professionals and can advise on various issues from mental health to practical support.

Torbay Emergency Duty Service – 0845 056 8032
The Emergency Duty Service provides social work support in Torbay for all Adult, Child, mental health services and emergency homeless applications, outside of normal office hours. The team is comprised of experienced social workers and support staff who have a vast range of skills and knowledge to support individuals and their families experiencing crisis.

Torbay Domestic Abuse Service – 0800 916 1474
We provide practical, non-judgemental support, advice and protection for all victims of domestic abuse. We offer a wide range of help to individuals and families in the Torbay area, including confidential advice, one-to-one and group support sessions, and safe refuge houses. You have the right to feel safe.
